Paver sealing day is straightforward, but a few preparation steps make the job go faster and protect items you don't want exposed to cleaning chemistry or sealer overspray.

Clear the Surface and Surrounding Area

  • Move vehicles out of the driveway. We need the full surface clear — including cars, trailers, or recreational vehicles parked on or near the pavers.
  • Move furniture, planters, and decorations. Anything sitting on the paver surface needs to come off. Pool deck furniture and potted plants should be moved at least 3 feet back from the edge of the work area.
  • Sensitive plants near edges. Our cleaning chemistry is plant-safe at normal concentrations, but if you have sensitive plants right at the driveway border, let us know on arrival — we'll wet them before we start.

Pool and Water Features

If we're sealing a pool deck, cover the pool if possible — or we'll cover it ourselves before cleaning. Sealer overspray in a pool is a headache to resolve. Keep the pool pump running normally; shutting it off in advance isn't necessary.

Plan for the Cure Window

  • Foot traffic: 24 hours minimum after sealer application
  • Vehicle traffic: 48–72 hours — we'll give you a specific window based on conditions that day
  • Full cure: About one week for maximum hardness, though the surface is functional well before that

If you need access to the driveway sooner, let us know when you book so we can schedule accordingly.

Day-of Weather

We monitor weather closely and will reschedule if rain is expected during or within 4 hours after sealer application. If you see incoming weather and aren't sure whether the job is still on, call us. We'll make the call and communicate it clearly. A sealing job caught in rain before it cures has to be redone.

Keep Kids and Pets Inside During Application

The cleaning chemistry is safe once rinsed, and sealer is safe once dry — but during active work, keeping people and animals off the surface makes the job safer and cleaner. We'll let you know when it's okay to come back outside.

Ask Questions Before We Start

We'd rather answer your questions at the beginning than have uncertainty midway through the job. If you're not sure about finish, scope, or anything else — bring it up when we arrive. Once sealer goes down, changing course is much harder.
